Unlike other manufacturers, Cummins Power Generation designs power system controls as a single self-monitoring system, not as components in a larger system. PowerCommand® controls simultaneously can operate the engine fuel system, directly control the alternator excitation system and monitor up to 150 other nodes.
When deployed as the control system for power plant operations, PowerCommand® ensures only the minimum required number of gensets is operating to provide maximum power at the best fuel economy. PowerCommand® controls gensets to operate, automatically adding or withdrawing units from operation per load demand. This mode of operation results in the highest possible fuel economy at whatever the load demand.
