Washington – Louis Berger and Novitas Communications were together recognized in two separate categories of the 2018 Hermes Creative Awards for their creative work on the “Satala Power Plant Replacement | Pago Pago, American Samoa” video.
The video documents the successful efforts of Louis Berger and the American Samoa Power Authority to rebuild and reopen the Satala Power Plant in Pago Pago, destroyed in the 2009 South Pacific tsunami that devastated the island community. Officially opened in 2017, the cleaner burning, more efficient, more resilient 24.5 MW power plant is expected to stimulate economic development and investment in the island and its people.
The Louis Berger-Novitas Communications collaboration won two Hermes Social/ Interactive Media Video awards in the separate categories of Public Relations and Documentary.
“We're proud of this prestigious recognition, which is a tribute not only to the creative team who produced the video but to an outstanding project and the talented project team who implemented it," said Ray Mardini, senior vice president, Louis Berger Power. "The unique content provided by local videographers, storytellers and musicians, including their own Samoan musical score, makes this video very special indeed."
